Terms of Service
Al Afaq Quran Academy provides live, one-on-one online Quran and Islamic education classes. By enrolling in our regular classes, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms of Service, including any future updates or amendments to these policies.
1. Scheduled Classes
Classes are conducted on the agreed days and times selected at the time of enrollment. Our standard live, one-on-one online Quran classes are 30 minutes long unless a different duration has been agreed upon in advance.
2. Absence Policy
Regular attendance is important for maintaining consistent learning progress and respecting the tutor’s reserved time. Each student’s class time is specifically allocated to them.
Advance Notice: If a student cannot attend a scheduled class because of illness, an emergency, or another genuine reason, the academy or tutor must be informed at least 2 hours before the class begins.
Unexcused Absence: If no notice is provided at least 2 hours before the scheduled class, the session will be considered an unexcused absence. The missed class will be lost and no make-up session will be provided.
3. Rescheduling Classes
We understand that unexpected situations can occur. Valid rescheduling requests are handled according to the following conditions:
Eligibility: A make-up class may be arranged when the academy or tutor receives at least 2 hours’ advance notice.
Monthly Limit: Students may request rescheduling a maximum of 2 times per billing month.
Same-Month Completion: Approved make-up classes must be completed within the same billing month. Unused make-up sessions cannot be transferred or credited to the following month.
4. Student Late Arrival
Students are expected to join the online classroom on time and be ready when their scheduled lesson begins.
Teacher Waiting Period: If a student is late, the tutor will remain online for up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.
Class End Time: If the student joins within those 15 minutes, the class will still finish at its originally scheduled end time.
Lost Class Time: Time missed because of late arrival cannot be extended, refunded, credited, or rescheduled.
If the student does not join within the 15-minute waiting period, the class will be considered an unexcused absence.
5. Planned Absences and Vacations
Students planning to take a break for holidays, vacations, or other personal reasons should notify the academy at least 7 days in advance.
Monthly Fee: Monthly fees are charged to reserve the student’s dedicated class schedule. Therefore, the regular monthly fee remains payable in full during planned breaks.
Rescheduling Option: Where applicable, students may request to reschedule vacation-related classes to a suitable time before leaving or after returning.
Same-Month Rule: Rescheduled vacation classes must be completed within the same billing month and cannot be carried forward to the next month.
Insufficient Notice: Classes missed because the required 7-day advance notice was not provided will not be eligible for make-up sessions.
6. Teacher Availability and Absences
If an assigned tutor is unable to conduct a scheduled class due to illness, technical problems, or another unforeseen situation, Al Afaq Quran Academy will make reasonable arrangements to protect the student’s learning time.
Substitute Tutor: When possible, a qualified substitute tutor may conduct the class at the scheduled time.
Rescheduling: If a suitable substitute is unavailable, the missed class will be rescheduled with the regular tutor at a mutually convenient time within the same billing month.
7. Reporting Issues
If you experience repeated teacher lateness, technical difficulties, missed classes, or other concerns regarding your lessons, please contact the academy administration promptly through our official communication channels.
Early reporting allows us to investigate the issue and take appropriate corrective action.
8. Teacher Assignment
Al Afaq Quran Academy reserves the right to change a student’s assigned tutor when necessary because of scheduling, operational requirements, or other circumstances.
Students and parents may also request a change of tutor. Such requests are subject to the availability of another qualified tutor within the student’s preferred schedule.
9. Schedule Adjustments
Students may request a change to their regular class schedule if their current timing is no longer convenient.
If the requested time is available with the same tutor, the schedule may be adjusted accordingly. If that time is unavailable, the student may need to select another available time or continue with the existing schedule until a suitable option becomes available.
10. Schedule During Ramadan
We understand that Ramadan may require adjustments to regular routines. If a student’s or tutor’s class time conflicts with Salah, Suhoor, Iftar, or Taraweeh, the class schedule may be temporarily adjusted by mutual agreement.
The revised schedule will depend on tutor availability and the student’s preferred timing.
11. Teacher Resignation or Termination
If an assigned tutor resigns or is no longer available to teach with Al Afaq Quran Academy, the academy will make reasonable efforts to assign another qualified tutor so that the student’s learning can continue.
Direct Contact and Private Classes: Students and parents must not arrange private, off-platform Quran classes or maintain unauthorized professional arrangements with current or former academy tutors outside the official communication channels of Al Afaq Quran Academy.
The academy is not responsible for financial losses, educational issues, or other problems resulting from unauthorized private arrangements or agreements made outside the academy.
12. Modification of Terms
Al Afaq Quran Academy reserves the right to update, modify, or revise these Terms of Service when necessary.
Any changes will become applicable after they are published or communicated through the appropriate channels. Students and parents are encouraged to review the latest version of these terms periodically.
By continuing to use our services and attend classes after updated terms have been published, you agree to comply with the revised Terms of Service.
